Becoming a Data Scientist
Biography
Hi there! My name is Jacques Diambra Odi, and I'm a data scientist based in Atlanta, GA. I have over 8 years of experience in research and development fields, where I honed my skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis. My passion for using data to uncover insights and drive decision-making led me to pursue a career in data science, where I can combine my scientific knowledge with advanced analytics techniques.
With a strong foundation in statistics, programming, and machine learning, I can create models and algorithms that turn raw data into meaningful insights. I am enthusiastic about continuing to build my skills and applying them to real-world challenges.
Prior to becoming a data scientist, I worked as a QC Analyst at Arxada, where I analyzed chemical, raw materials, and in-process materials to support compliance with company standards. I was also a Research Associate at RCUOG, where I contributed to leading-edge Areca nut carcinogenicity data and presented my findings at conferences. In addition, I worked as a Research Lab Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh, where I conducted experiments with fruit fly (drosophila) DNA.
I hold an M.S. in Biology from the University of Guam and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh. I'm also a graduate of Practicum US Data Science Bootcamp, where i further enhanced my skills. When I'm not working, you can find me on Github, Portfolio, or LinkedIn. When I'm not working on improving my data skillset, I enjoy playing soccer and practicing jiujitsu. I also have entrepreneurial ventures, one of which is a real estate investing company, which I run with my siblings.
